TUFNUT STEEL SECURITY NUTS
TUFNUT STEEL SECURITY NUTS are fastened with regular tools. They can be installed as tightly as desired but are removable for maintenance,and are reusable. Tufnut security nuts are fully adjustable, to give you complete control over how tightly your property is secured.
Tufscrew System (screw nut washer nut)
TUFSCREW SYSTEMS replace lag bolts where security is needed. Each system includes: Tufnut security nuts, double-threaded Tufscrews, Tufnut washers, and steel acorn driver nuts.
Tufbolt Security Bolts
TUFBOLT SECURITY BOLTS are carriage bolts without a square neck beneath the head. They are useful for metal-to-metal fastenings where the square neck of a regular carriage bolt won't fit into a drilled hole. On a sign installation, the Tufbolt anti theft bolt does not damage the bond between the reflective sheeting and the substrate.
Tufnut Washers
TUFNUT WASHERS protect surfaces from damage when a TUFNUT is used on the front face of an assembly. Oversized Nylon washers (1.5 OD) fit under the base of a Tufnut to prevent damage by abrasion as the nut is tightened. Available in White or Black, sizes are 5/16" & 3/8".
VANDLGARD Breakaway Security Nuts
VANDLGARD BREAKAWAY SECURITY NUTS are used when the 1" square base of the Tufnut is too broad to fit the fastening surface. Vandlgard nuts can be installed with regular tools, including socket wrenches. Upon tightening, the hex head shears off, leaving the 5/8" wide conical base to protect your property. Perfect for sign security installation – anti-theft.
Tufnut One Way Bolt
TUFNUT ONE WAY BOLTS are security bolts which can be held with a screwdriver to prevent turning during installation but can't be "unscrewed". Perfect for sign security installation – anti-theft. Select finish.
Tufbolt Systems
TUFBOLT SYSTEMS for U-Channel and square metal posts combine Tufbolts, Tufbolt washers, and Tufnut security nuts in one package. During installation, you can easily hold the tail of the Tufbolt with your hand or a pliers to keep it from turning until tightened.
Marion Post Washer
MARION POST WASHERS fill the space in the groove of a rib-back post, denying access to the base of the Tufnut, while making installation easier.
Carriage Bolt
CARRIAGE BOLTS are recommended for use with Tufnut security hardware in all situations where the square neck is not a problem. The Round head is difficult to grasp, while the square neck prevents the bolt from turning.
Carriage Bolt Adapter
CARRIAGE BOLT ADAPTERS allow use of any length carriage bolt where you would otherwise use a Tufbolt. The adapters raise the neck of the carriage bolt so it doesn't touch the sign face or work surface.
Tufbolt Washers
TUFBOLT WASHERS are used under the head of the Tufbolt and One-way Bolt to protect surfaces from abrasion when used on the front face of an assembly. Size is 5/16" x 1". Comes in White or Black. Perfect for sign security installation - anti-theft.
Here's How The Tufnut Works...
Tufnut security nuts are shaped like small steel pyramids. They are fastened with regular tools and are reusable.
First, thread a Tufnut onto your security bolt until the nut base is against the work surface.
Then, thread a second Tufnut onto the bolt, upside down.
Insert a wrench between the two nuts and turn to fasten. An open-end wrench works best, but you can use
almost any wrench or plier tool.
Finally, remove the second Tufnut. Your property is now safe and secure.
The Tufnut allows complete control of the tightness of your assembly. Its case-hardened steel body is
harder than hand tools, which slide right off when you try to grasp the nut.
You can remove the nuts by reversing the installation procedure. We don't sell these nuts to the general
public, so you can rest assured that your valuable signs and property will remain secure until you want
to remove them.
